How it works
Cautionary note while GTM Bot is in development - not all steps may work as expected and data issues may affect performance. The Bot is on its own ‘journey’ to be amazing, but it’s not quite there yet.
Start with Client’s Goal
Therapy begins with understanding what the client wants to change, achieve, or explore.
The GTM Bot invites you to enter your client’s goal in their own words which is key to retaining client’s sense of agency and ownership of their goal.
→ Example:
“I want to feel less anxious.”
Step 1: Match to a Predefined Goal
Using natural language understanding, the bot identifies the closest match from a curated list of therapy goals—so you can stay true to the client’s wording without losing structure.
Behind the scenes: This is the only step that uses AI (ChatGPT). All further steps follow strict decision-tree logic using preloaded data.
Step 2: Choose a Task
Once the goal is matched, the bot shows potential tasks that the database has linked to that goal.
Example tasks for “I want to feel less anxious.” might include:
• Practice emotion regulation techniques
• Explore patterns or triggers
• Set behavioural goals
Step 3: Select a Method
Each task links to several evidence-informed methods each drawn from a known modality (like CBT, ACT, or CFT).
Example methods:
• Leaves on a Stream (ACT)
• Cognitive restructuring (CBT)
• Clarify values and priorities (various)
You can explore one or more methods per task.
Step 4: Loop or Summarise
You can choose to:
• View another method for the same task
• Try a different task for the same goal
• Start again with a new goal
• Or summarise your session
Step 5: Get Your Summary
When you’re ready to finish, the GTM Bot generates a structured summary you can copy or save:
✅ Client’s original goal
✅ Task(s) selected
✅ Method(s) chosen (with modality and reference info)
You can copy ready for reflection, supervision, or case notes.
Key Design Principles
• Keeps goal in client’s own words own words throughout
• Intentional: Moves from outcome to action
• Evidence-informed: All methods are grounded in known therapeutic models
• Structured: No hallucinated content—only curated, preloaded responses
